Lael Pierce was raised in Yonkers, New York, a suburb just outside of New York City. After graduating from Utica University with a Bachelor of Science in Management, she began her career in higher education as an undergraduate admissions counselor at her alma mater, recruiting students from underrepresented communities in New York and Maryland. In 2012, she relocated to Syracuse, NY and assumed various advisory and leadership roles with institutions and college readiness programs. She is the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs at Syracuse University, where she advises the Panhellenic Council and National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) Council, oversees chapter expansion, and implements programming in the areas of sexual assault awareness & prevention, hazing prevention, alcohol and other drugs prevention and anti-bias education.
Lael was inducted into the Sorority in Fall 2012 by way of Kappa Xi Zeta Chapter and serves as the 3rd Vice President and chair of the Undergraduate Advisory Committee. She is the Immediate Past President of the chapter, and previously served as Secretary for the State of New York from 2018-2022. On the international level, she is the Atlantic Region Representative for the Sorority Life & Culture Committee. She serves her community as the vice-chair of the PEACE, Inc. Eastside Neighborhood Advisory Committee, board member for the A Better Chance Program of Fayetteville-Manlius, board member for the Sankofa Reproductive Health and Healing Center and a volunteer for several local agencies
