Anita Cox is the Grammateus of our chapter. Born in Montgomery, Al. but Anita was raised in Syracuse with her sister Ashley by her parents Arthur and Barbara Grimes. A product of the Syracuse City School District, Anita went on to get her Bachelor’s in Science from Cazenovia College and her Master’s in Teaching from LeMoyne College. She currently teaches 8 th grade Special Education at Grant Middle School in the Syracuse City School District where she has been employed for almost 30 years. She is a mother of 2 boys, Khalil and Kameron and the wife of Nakia. Anita’s parents instilled in her the love of children and education. Through her career, she carries out those teachings.
