Gwendolyn (Gwen) Sanders is currently employed by National Grid, the largest distributor of natural gas in the Northeast.

​

Mrs. Sanders is the Community Relations Manager for the New York Customer & Community Engagement Team and serves as the community liaison for the Central, Northern and Mohawk Valley regions at National Grid.

​

Prior to joining National Grid, Gwen worked for the El-Hindi Center for Dialogue at InterFaith Works of CNY.  She was responsible for supporting the Starting Small Dialogue Program, within the Community Wide Dialogue to End Racism (CWD) in the Syracuse City School District. This program is instrumental with creating a safe space for dialogue surrounding race, racism and social justice.

 

Gwen serves on the Executive Board of Poise, Gifted and Ready Foundation, Inc. (PGR) youth mentoring, focused on preparing young ladies between the ages of 6 to 18 to live in a diverse and global society. She serves on the Executive Board of Operation Northern Comfort (ONC). ONC is a community of volunteers who help to empower and give hope to those in need by assisting with much needed home repairs for families that currently do not have the funds or means to make the necessary upgrades to keep their homes safe and accessible. Gwen is a member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board and is a member of the Inclusion and Diversity Committee at David’s Refuge.

Mrs. Sanders is also a proud member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Kaptivating Kappa Xi Zeta Syracuse Chapter.
