Soror Ashley Grimes was initiated into Kappa Xi Zeta Chapter in the Fall of 2012. Since childhood, she knew she wanted to work with children. Her sources of influence were her father, Brother of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and retired forty year veteran administrator for the Syracuse City School District, as well as her mother who served for thirty years as Center Director for Wilson Park. Soror Grimes received a Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Education, Grades 1-6 and a Masters degree in Special Education from Le Moyne College. With her desire to teach and help youth of all races, ethnic backgrounds, genders and faiths.
Ashley strives to promote happiness and genuine sisterly love among her Sorors, Amicae, Auxiliaries and all people. In her spare time, Ashley is an active member in the NAACP, NCNW and Order of Eastern Star (PHA). She enjoys spending time with family, shopping and traveling. Her mother always reminds her, “You may sit down and rest, but never lay down and quit.”
